About Sanatan Australia

A multicultural Australian organisation, independently governed and inspired by the broader Sanatani tradition, working for the betterment of the people in our communities and welcoming every culture, background and allied tradition.

Who we are

Sanatan Australia is a multicultural community organisation established to work for the betterment of the people in our communities. We do this through events, programs, activities and resources (including youth development, business and leadership forums, and personal growth initiatives) grounded in Hindu and Sanatan Dharmic principles, bringing ancient wisdom to modern ways of living: in community, family and professional life. In all of this, we hold a wider horizon: that the dharma we live, in our small corner of the world, is one small contribution to world peace.

Open to all

We are a multicultural organisation in a multicultural country. Our members and volunteers come from many cultures, languages and traditions, South Asian and Australian alike, and everyone is welcome at our gatherings. We hold hands with allied dharmic communities, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and others, and with the wider Australian community around us. Dharma is not the property of one culture. It is a way of living that anyone can learn from.

Why now

Australia is one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world, and ours are among its fastest-growing communities. We exist to make sure the next generation inherits the depth of Sanatan Dharma, not only its surface, and that its wisdom is shared openly with the wider Australian community.

The six pillars of our work

01

Bhakti · Devotion

The devotional heart of Sanatan Dharma, expressed in regular community practice.

02

Sanskriti · Culture

Culture as a living transmission, not nostalgia. The medium through which dharma reaches the next generation.

03

Sangha · Community

A community that holds people across life stages, geographies, and traditions.

04

Vidya · Education

Knowledge passed on with care, from young children to elders.

05

Vyavahara · Modern Application

Bringing timeless wisdom into the realities of work, business, parenting, and public life in Australia.

06

Svasthya · Health and Wellness

Whole-person well-being: caring for the body and mind that carry a life of dharma.
